The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapy Assistant for a position in Belfast. This temporary Band 3 role is based within an acute hospital setting and offers full time hours of 37.5 per week, scheduled from Monday to Friday.
What you will be doing
- Undertaking specific skilled support work to assist with patient rehabilitation.
- Accepting patients referred by a physiotherapist and managing your own patient case load.
- Treating patients according to established protocols and monitoring their progression.
- Making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes when necessary.
- Working unsupervised while reporting patient progress and informing the physiotherapy team of any issues.
- Supporting the delivery of physiotherapy services to all referred patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, which may include hydrotherapy.
Qualifications and experience required
- 4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics, or City and Guilds Part 1, or a recognised vocational qualification, or NVQ Level 2 (completed or in progress).
- 12 months of practical experience providing direct patient care or rehabilitation in a voluntary or paid capacity within a healthcare environment.
