    Section 75 Statement

This statement sets out how Rutledge Group has regard to the principles of Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 in our work with public bodies and learners across Northern Ireland.

DraftThis statement is published as a working draft pending review by the Rutledge compliance team. For the most current signed copy, please contact info@rutledgegroup.co.uk.

    Background

Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 places a statutory duty on designated public authorities to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and to have regard to the desirability of promoting good relations across nine equality categories.

    The Nine Categories

    • Religious belief
    • Political opinion
    • Racial group
    • Age
    • Marital status
    • Sexual orientation
    • Gender
    • Disability
    • Dependants

    Our Approach

While Rutledge is a private organisation, we contract with public authorities (including the Department for the Economy and Health & Social Care Trusts) and therefore mirror Section 75 principles in our recruitment, training delivery and care services.

    Equality Screening

New policies and substantive policy changes are screened for differential equality impact. Where adverse impact is identified, we engage with affected groups to mitigate.

    Contact

To request information about an equality screening or to raise a Section 75 concern, email info@rutledgegroup.co.uk.
