The role
Rutledge Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Shunter Driver to join our client's team in the Derry area. This permanent role is based on night-time shifts and is suited to a confident driver who is comfortable working independently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out shunting duties during the early morning hours, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the yard.
Working hours involve starts between 1.00am and 2.00am, finishing at approximately 7.00am. This position offers a pay rate of £20.00 per hour.
What you will be doing
- Carry out HGV shunting duties during the night
- Safely manoeuvre HGVs and trailers around the yard
- Collect, position and move trailers as required
- Complete vehicle and trailer safety checks
- Ensure trailers are correctly secured before moving
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Follow all site health and safety procedures
- Maintain a safe and tidy yard environment
What you will bring.
- 01Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence
- 02Previous Class 1 driving experience
- 03Confidence and competence carrying out shunting duties
- 04Ability to work night-time hours and independently
- 05Good understanding of vehicle and trailer safety
- 06Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
