LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN WORK BASED HORSE CARE

This course is designed as a progressive course for those who are already working, or who would like to work, in an equine location.  It will enable learners to develop and practice the skills they will need to progress from junior equine roles.

This level 2 course is suitable for those who already have some experience working in horse care.  It is suitable for those who want to progress with further training or who may preparing to seek promotion from a junior position.

The mandatory elements of the course cover the cleaning and maintenance of stables, the routine care of horses and key skills such as restraining horses using specified methods, health and safety and working effectively with others.  The qualification also has a range of optional units such as cleaning and grooming horses for appearance, assisting with foaling etc.   

Privately this course would cost £800 + VAT

Payment option 1: If you pay in full on enrolment you will be entitled to a 5% discount.
Payment option 2: Pay a 30% deposit and then 10 monthly direct debit payments.

LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN WORK BASED HORSE CARE & MANAGEMENT

This qualification is designed for those who are working in the equine industry who are already in a leadership position or are ready to progress to that level.  It enables learners to develop their skills to manage an equine location and provide for the health and wellbeing of horses.    

This course is for those with advanced experience in the equine industry who want a qualification that reflects their knowledge or those who are ready to apply for a senior position in an equine setting.

The mandatory elements of the course include initial assessment of horses, planning their diet and feeding, maintaining their health and wellbeing including basic healthcare.  It also includes resource management of an equine centre including feed and bedding and the general health and safety of the location.  Learners will also be able to choose from a range of optional units including improving the performance of horses and introductory and enhanced training for horses.

This course provides a route for those wanting to start or grow their skills to progress a career in game and wildlife management.  Learners can choose from four pathways – Upland Grouse, Lowland, Deer or Game Rearing.

This course is suitable for those starting out in a career in the game and wildlife sector or for those working in the field who want to demonstrate their knowledge and skills with a formal qualification.  The course is suitable for undertaking a range of job roles including under keeper, beat keeper, game farm worker, under stalker and ghillie.

The course provides learners with recognition as a qualified person in the game and wildlife sector.  Learners can choose from one of the four pathways (upland grouse, lowland, deer or game rearing) and must then complete the mandatory units and a range of optional units.
