LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN WOOD OCCUPATIONS (CONSTRUCTION)

This course provides a formal qualification that recognises the key skills and knowledge needed to work in wood occupations in the construction field.   

This course is aimed at learners who want to work in construction and specialise in a wood-based role. Learners can also progress onto a level 3 diploma.

The course has a range of pathways including site carpentry and architectural joinery.  The mandatory elements include general health, safety and welfare in the workplace, productive working practices and moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace.  Optional units cover installation of components and using cutting and shaping machines.

Privately this course would cost £800 + VAT

Payment option 1: If you pay in full on enrolment you will be entitled to a 5% discount.
Payment option 2: Pay a 30% deposit and then 10 monthly direct debit payments.

LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN WOOD OCCUPATIONS (CONSTRUCTION) - ARCHITECTURAL JOINERY

The Level 3 Diploma in Wood Occupations (Architectural Joinery) is our highest level within the Construction course range. We offer it in two strands; Architectural and Site. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in carpentry and joinery. It covers the following specialist areas: Architectural Joinery.

The Level 3 is ideal for learners who have worked in the construction industry and have plenty of experience. Suitable for those who are in a role that may involve supervising others and for those who want to develop skills further and move into a senior role or a position with more responsibility.

This course covers a wide range of topics, most of which are mandatory. To achieve this qualification learners must complete 7 mandatory units comprising of Workplace based skills such as:

  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Confirming the Occupational Method of Work
  • Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area
  • Installing Bespoke First Fixing Components
  • Installing Bespoke Second Fixing Components
  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships
  • Setting Up and Using Transportable Cutting and Shaping Machines

In addition, learners must choose from a selection of optional modules to tailor their qualification, topics may include:

  • Erecting Complex Roof Structure Carcassing Components in the Workplace
  • Maintaining Non-structural or Structural Components in the Workplace

LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN WOOD OCCUPATIONS (CONSTRUCTION) - SITE CARPENTRY

This course provides a formal qualification that recognises the key skills and knowledge needed to work in wood occupations in the construction field.  It provides a progression route from the level 2 Diploma for those with more experience in the sector or who wish to grow their knowledge and skills.

This course is designed for those who are trying to further develop their knowledge and skills in relation to site carpentry including those who are preparing to apply for a role with supervisory responsibility.  It is also designed for those with experience in this kind of role that they want recognised officially.

The mandatory units of the course include general health, safety and welfare and confirming work activities and resources for the workplace as well as the installation of bespoke first and second fixing components and setting up/using transportable cutting and shaping machines.  Optional units include erecting structural or roof structure carcassing components.
