The City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (Northern Ireland) is a competence-based qualification specifically designed for learners who work in Adult Social Care in Northern Ireland in a range or roles.
This qualification allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and career progression in Adult Care.
This course is made up of a selection of mandatory units and a choice of optional modules who can choose to compliment your current job role. Topics include:
- Working in partnership in Health and Social Care
- Advanced Communication Skills
- Equality and Diversity in Health and Social Care
- Facilitate person-centred assessment to support the wellbeing of individuals
As an advanced course, modules will also focus on: Team leading for example: Understanding professional supervision practice.

The Level 5 Diploma is our highest level within the Health and Social Course range, we offer it in two strands Adults’ Residential Management and Adults’ Management. It is a management and supervisory based course that focuses on assessing development of knowledge, understanding and skills in leadership and management practice within Health and Social Care in a Residential capacity.
This course is made up of a selection of mandatory units and a choice of optional modules who can choose to compliment your current job role. Topics include:
- Use and develop systems that promote communication
- Promoting Professional Development
- Develop health and safety and risk management policies procedures and practices in the sector
- Lead practice that supports positive outcomes for child and young person development
Plus a choice of optional modules tailored to your job role or career path:
- Implement the Positive Behavioural Support model
- Lead the management of transitions
- Support individuals with sensory loss with communication
