Job Role: Head of Finance (rj/885/hof)

Base: Head Office, Coleraine

Contract: Full-Time Permanent

Hours of work: 40 per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

The Role:

This excellent opportunity as head of finance is a blend of strategy and hands on ability, leading a motivated finance team. Based at our head offices, the Head of Finance will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will have overall responsibility for providing excellent, timely, accurate and value added financial management across both accounting and operational finance.

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for modernising the financial function and contribute towards the financial planning and strategic growth of the company. The ideal candidate will be motivated and be able to operate at a strategic and operational level.

 

Your Profile:

  • You will be a fully qualified accountant, educated to Degree level who has maintained their ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrable experience of online accounting systems maintenance and development
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment and demonstrating commercial acumen and judgment.
  • Up to date working knowledge of PAYE and other payroll requirements
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal with the ability to influence key stakeholders throughout the organisation and work effectively with appropriate external bodies.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • To oversee the production of the monthly management accounts
  • To utilise and maintain knowledge of PAYE and accounting and legal matters and to act as an expert advisor.
  • To prepare the company’s annual statutory accounts and liaise with the auditors.
  • To account for the organisation's property & investment portfolios.
  • To be responsible for and oversee the effective and appropriate financial input to all new bids and contracts.
  • To keep up to date with developments in accounting and management information systems and techniques.
  • To be continually looking for and raising ideas for continuous improvement across all areas of Finance and across the orignanisation
