JOB ROLE: Branch Manager

CONTRACT: Temporary Maternity Cover

HOURS: Full-Time (37.5 per week)

BASE: Bangor Branch

As Branch Manager you will be responsible for the management of the entire branch; including physical, financial, human resources and development of new business in accordance with the overall aims and objectives of the organisation.

This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave for a period of 9 months from October, 2017

Duties of the Role include;

  • Plan, forecast, and report on sales, costs and business performance, according to company requirements.
  • Ensure effective Programme management (compliance) in your branch in accordance with company and DEL guidelines.
  • Act as a deputy designated officer for Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults, reporting all incidents to Ops Director.
  • Ensure pastoral care is a key focus for all learners and staff.
  • Control income and expenditure for allocated branches within the allocated budgets.
  • Monitor variance reports on a monthly basis in conjunction with the Operations Director to ensure the branch is profitable and feasible.
  • Ensure effective performance management of all staff within allocated branches in line with relevant job descriptions.
  • Continuously monitor all staff caseloads and ensure any issues are brought to the attention of the Operations Director.
  • Carry out staff appraisals and performance reviews in line with company guidelines.
  • Conduct quarterly Health and Safety assessments and risk assessments within the branch as per company guidelines and report actions to be taken to H&S Officer.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working with government-funded programmes; preferably Training for Success and ApprenticeshipsNI programmes
  • Minimum of 1 years people management experience
  • A proven track record of business to business sales


  • An ability to demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent People management skills
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve results


  • Full Driving License and Access to transport for business use
  • Qualification in Management (Desirable)
